Meeting Minutes

A hearty welcome to everyone who made our first GPAA-Round Rock Chapter meeting a resounding success! It's so exciting to meet others who are like-minded in our pursuit of the '”gold" and with whom we can share our wealth of information and experiences.

A big “thank you" to Derroll and Joyce Ross from the GPAA-Granbury Chapter for helping us with their experience and expertise to launch our first meeting. We appreciate the members of that chapter for being in attendance with us.

We express our thanks to Pat Napolitano who donated items to raffle that you can find in his store, Earthworks, located in Round Rock. They are open to the public only on Saturdays and it is a real treat to see the “treasures" found there. Go by and see for yourself. Their phone number is 512-255-1314 or 512-255-2844.

We also appreciate donated items from Garrett Metal Detectors from Fort Worth and the GPAA for raffle donations.

Last, but not least, a big "thank-you" to Coopers Barbeque Pit for their great food and lending us a meeting place where we can exchange information.

We raised $260.00 in raffle proceeds to kick things off. A big “thank you” to each of you who participated.

The raffle winners are:

Bill Stalvey who received a classifier.

Randy Asterman received a finish pan.

Lorrett Robertson got a pan with the Lincoln County (pay) dirt

John Brueckner won a Sapphire Gem Bag who donated it back and Miles Barger took it home.

Bill Stalvey also took home a plastic scoop and the You Can Find An Ounce Of Gold book.

Glenn (sorry, I didn't get your last name) won a snuffer and clean-up kit.

Brenda Horam took home an ounce of gold with the book, You Can Find An Ounce Of Gold.

Katy Wallace won the coveted United We Stand Pin and the You Can Find An Ounce Of Gold book.

Joe Riccardelli hit Felix' Pay Dirt and took home the You Can Find An Ounce Of Gold book.

Bob Jones won a snuffer and You Can Find An Ounce Of Gold book.

John Daht is ready to hit the dirt with his new metal detector pouch.

"Lucky" John Brueckner is the big winner taking home the Tom and Perry deluxe cleanup kit and a 10 1/2" and 14" gold pan.

Congratulations to you all!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

If any of you can help with a small PA system so we can hear behind Grady's back, please let us know. Don't forget Tom (and I think) Cindy Massie will be at Long's Fishing Camp May 26,27 and will leave the 28th. They will be filming a segment for the show so here's your chance to be discovered. Better yet, hopefully, we will be doing the discovering. It's out there folks, we've seen it. Directions to Longs Fishing Camp: At Hwy 29 and 1431, turn South onto 1431. Go approximately 1 to 2 miles. Small sign on the right. Go all the way down the dirt road until it ends and take a right. Cross small bridge and will see Mr. Long's house. Go to the smaller building to the right of his house for admission. Hope to see you there!

Our next chapter meeting will be June 21st at 6:00 at Coopers Barbeque Pit in Round Rock at 410 N Mays.

Bring an empty stomach, a full heart, and may your gold pan never be empty.

***Special kudos to Glenn Rutledge, our Public Relations Website Coordinator for the fantastic job he has done on putting the Round Rock GPAA website together****
